Service Learning Volunteering essay

It is known that today volunteering plays an important role in any sphere of human activity. Volunteers are those people who voluntary undertake their willingness to help with some services. In many cases, the job of a volunteer is necessary to attract attention of other people and help them with their problems. As for me, I had a chance to act as a volunteer for the Hospitality Institute. This activity gave me an opportunity to become more confident in my actions and more communicative. I took part in the program that helped people in job training.

It is known that today there are thousands of people in each country of the world who are out of work. The major reason of this fact is focused on the high level of unemployment that is connected with the consequences of financial crises and unstable economic situation. I had a chance to develop my skills during volunteering for the Hospitality Institute. I was involved in the process of signing up people who needed job.  My volunteering activity lasted four days: three days of training and one day – graduation. As a result of this activity, about 85% of the unemployed people got jobs in the sphere of hospitality industry, including hotels, retail, restaurants, and different attractions. I really liked the activity of a volunteer, and I’ll be glad to take part in volunteering in the future. Moreover, I successfully performed my duties of a volunteer for the Hospitality Institute. I not only took part in the preparation of the next job training program, but also got final count on surveys, welcomed the alumni searching for jobs, and provided assistance to the presenters and employers who took part in the program.
