Future Security essay
Today, the emerging security trends that may affect the organization consistently exposing the organization to threats of espionage as well as violent terror attacks. To prevent such threats it is possible to suggest the following steps to protect the organization, its customers, and its employees.
First, the organization should conduct checks before hiring employees. In such a way, the organization will learn whom it employs. The learning past experience of employees and their current skills and abilities will also help to identify potential spies and employees, who may bear certain threat to the organization. For instance, employees with the military experience may have extensive experience of creating IEDs. If the employee has such experience, he or she may expose the organization to potential threats because this employee can apply his or her military knowledge and experience in the organization (Anderson, 2004). In addition, the organization should conduct internal checks to identify spies. To enhance checks, the organization should monitor the work of each employee on the regular basis. Thus, the organization will have detailed information on each employee that minimizes the risk of espionage and other security threats (Hayward, 2004). To reach this goal, the organization should maintain the communication within the organization to collect as much information about employees as possible. The effective communication within the organization allows it to obtain detailed information about possible threats in time. In addition, the effective communication contributes to the mutual control between employees because they are aware of the fact that the organization is aware of their actions and any manifestation of insecure behavior may lead to firing of the unreliable or insecure employee.
Finally, the organization has to conduct risk and cost benefit analysis to improve security. The organization has to balance potential risks and costs it spends on preventing the risks.
