Experimental Plan essay

On recalling my experience of participation in a psychological research, I would refer to my experience of being involved in the experiment conducted to assess the impact of stressors and males and females. The researcher attempted to reveal the difference in the response of males and females on stress and the impact of stress on males and females. The study involved males and females of different racial and cultural background. At the same time, the study involved participants of the similar age, from 18 to 25. The study was conducted anonymously and participants could be certain that their private information will remain protected from external intrusion, while their responses were confidential and used by the researcher solely. Each participant signed a written consent form to ensure that he/she is aware of effects of his/her participation in the experiment and agreed upon the participation in the experiment. The written consent form contained detailed and comprehensible information concerning goals of the study, the function of participants and expected effects of the research. At the same time, the researcher agreed to conduct the study confidentially and preserve anonymity of participants of the study.

The independent variable was the gender of participants. The researcher focused on the difference in response of males and females to stressors. This is why the gender became the key independent variable, which was supposed to reveal how participants of the study responded to the impact of stressors. Gender was important independent variable which could not be changed and depend on any factor because it was natural for participants of the study.

In addition, the study involved a number of dependent variables, among which it is possible to single out the educational background of individuals for their educational background could affect the response of individuals to stress. The research also involved psychological resistance to stress on the ground of the personality type. To define the psychological resistance of each participant, the researcher conducted a series of psychological tests to identify the personality type of each participant of the study. In such a way, the researcher attempted to take into consideration the difference in the personality type and extrapolate it on possible gender differences that could be revealed in the course of the study. Finally, the study involved cultural background as dependent variable because the researcher held the premise that individuals of different genders could have different gender roles depending on their cultural background.

The method of measurement used in the study was grounded on psychological testing developed by the researcher to assess the impact of stress on an individual and to reveal responses of an individual to stressors. After testing, the impact of stress on each individual was measured and the difference in responses of female and male participants of the study to stressors was revealed.

In the course of the study, participants were exposed to the impact of different stressors. The experiment involved testing which was conducted in different environment with a different degree of stress influencing the participant. One group of participants conducted testing in regular conditions, the second group of participants conducted testing when grunge music played loud, the third group conducted testing when the researcher asked questions which participants had to respond while passing the test.

Thus, the study was conducted and I revealed the great role of proper organization of experiment on the outcome of the study.
