Chance for democracy in China essay
The rapid entry of China into the group of the most influential players in the global political arena causes close and interested attention of statesmen and politicians, scientists and the general public. Observing chances for democracy in China, it can be stated that China directly predicts the own democracy by 2017, assuming that the economy will grow, and the annual GDP could reach $15 500 per capita. On the one hand, it will be good for China and good for the whole world, but on the other hand, the presence of democracy conceals many risks. Moreover, on the assumption that the country can now be classified as a weak democracy (if not an authoritarian state), its prospects of becoming a strong democracy are good because very rarely weak democracies turn into something else rather than a strong democracy with this level of GDP.
Of course, the financial crisis has affected the production of goods in China, the goods which were export-oriented, especially since one of the main consumers of the country was America by the reason that its customers’ capabilities have significantly decreased (Berkowitz and Toay, 2013). The most significant losses suffered steel industry, and the causes can be seen in the decline in steel demand outside of China and the decline in exports of products using metal. However, the total collapse of the country still has not happened. An interesting fact can be also seen in the fact that China’s international growth occurs despite crises in the world economy. At that time, the whole world still remains in serious global crisis, not knowing how to get out, while China is stepping up its positions.
