The Hunger Games Short Story essay

The Hunger Games Short Story essay

There are thousands of games in this world, but the worst game is the one that is held in our town. I am Katriss. Although I am only 16, my life experience allows me to make conclusions. Yes, I hate the Huger Games. However, there are such situations when it is necessary to become the player. So, I decided to take place of my younger sister Prim. I do not want her to risk her life. After all, I am her elder sister and I know how to act.

The rules of the Hunger Games are rather simple, but it is a terrible game. Every year each of 12 districts in our region should provide the so-called tributes: one boy and one girl, who will be the main participants of the game. So, the twenty-four tributes from 12 districts will fight to the death in the arena. The winner is the last tribute. It is cruel and immoral to force kids to kill each other, but the Hunger Games is a tradition in our region. Nobody thinks about its nonsense and cruelty. Just imagine: the Capitol is watching the game, in which kids kill each other! Moreover, the Hunger Games are regarded as a festivity. Nonsense! But what is more interesting is that the last tribute alive is given a life of ease at home. It’s a terrible game with terrible rules!

I have participated in this game and today I am the last tribute and the winner. However, I am not happy. I still hate this game and everybody who has direct relation to it.
