Great athletes have their great moments, which make them memorable in history of their sport. Bill Cundiff has become one of the athletes, whom fans remember for year. Some athletes bring win to their team in the last minute, others unite their team in the difficult time, others break records and stay record holders for years. Bill Cundiff has done none of the above but still, when one asks a Ravens’ fan who Bill Cundiff is, they will definitely tell a long story that made him remembered for years ahead. However, this could probably be the most ridiculous story in the history of football, if this story was not so sad and disappointing for Ravens.
The match was about to come to the end but Ravens had a chance to win and they carried on their struggle until the end. In such a situation, Bill Cundiff could become a hero for his team and his fans because his team was in two touchdown passes from winning the game. Bill Cundiff craved his name in the history of his team but, at the same time, he made his teams’ fans puzzled because they have never seen anything like that before. He made 32-yard field-goal try left, when he was in two touchdowns within 15 seconds remaining. Fans, as well as his team mates, could hardly see a more unexpected decision in their life. Probably, they just cannot understand such a genius decision being taken by Cundiff. However, his move was too clever to be good for his team and his move brought his team to loss. What a miracle he made in that game. Fans will remember it forever.
Kyle Williams
The last match, 49s vs. Giants was the turning point, which opened the way to the Super Bowl. Both teams had great chances to win but the outcomes of this game was determined by one player only – Kyle Williams. In spite of all the efforts of both teams undertaken in the course of the match, it is Kyle Williams the only man that defined the outcome of the match and made the game. However, his contribution to the outcome of the game was too much for Niners and they were just speechless after the end of the game to thank Kyle for his contribution, while the coach of Niners was definitely puzzled why did Ted Ginn Jr. have to hurt that knee that made the coach to substitute Ted by Kyle.
This was definitely the Kyle’s day as he twice determined the progress of the game. First time the fate of Kyle’s team was in his hands in the third quarter, when he inexplicably surrounded the bouncing punt that caromed off his leg and into the hands of Giants’ Devin Thomas. Thus, the game eventually turn into the overtime. However, Kyle was unstoppable that day and, in the overtime, he caught a Weatherford punt, turned upfield, ran five yards and then had the ball popped loose that was the last but not the least accomplishment of Kyle in that game.
Kyle Williams could hardly do anything better for Giants, if only he was not the player of Niners. He would definitely be a hero, if he could score as much as he did that day for Niners but not for their opponents.
