Ethical issues in counseling essay

The provision of services to a young adult was very important. At the same time, the provision of services of the high quality is highly challenging. In this regard, I focused on the definition of needs of the client and developed strategies of their elimination.

First of all, I attempted to assess needs of the client. For this purpose, I conducted interviews of the client to get insight into his needs. At the same time, I decided to conduct a deeper study to understand needs of my client. For this purpose, I interviewed his parents and friends. In such a way, I obtained detailed information on the needs of my client.

Nevertheless, I still faced certain obstacles in the course of my work with the client. The major obstacle was the elaboration of the strategy that could be effective in relation to my client. I used the information collected on needs of the client. This information helped me to develop the strategy that would meet needs of my client.

Handled failures included the development of effective communication with the client. At first, the client was not ready to the effective communication. He was a bit anxious and not confident in my professional skills. However, I have managed to persuade him that I was a well-qualified professional.

One of my major successes was the establishment of positive, friendly relations with my client. However, the establishment of positive and friendly relations needed some time but, as I have managed to establish friendly relations, my work has become more effective. At the same time, it was much easier for me to work with my client, when we established positive relations.
