Factors Influencing the Selection of Video Display Systems essay

Systems for receiving and displaying information represent themselves a complex of technical means ensuring the provision of multimedia information in a form suitable for human visual perception. Nowadays, there exist a great number of technologies for displaying video information by means of display systems, and the choice of one or another system every time depends on a number of factors that should be considered for making adequate decisions on displaying specific information.

For instance, selecting a particular video display system, it is essential to determine the appropriate display technology, manufacturer and model, as well as the whole row of technical conditions, such as dimensions of the room, its lighting intensity, microclimate, electric power supply, number of users, etc. In our opinion, the choice of the particular equipment also depends on such factors as: the expected volume and speed of information updating; required procedure and algorithm for information display; the character and type of video information, as well as the type of task performed; possibilities of placing the blocks of information on the display systems; the demanded sequence and priority of displaying information blocks; as well as photometric parameters and peculiarities of video information perception by a human.

Thus, in our study, we aim to focus at the factors influencing video display systems selection and projection solutions in order to formulate the main strategies of defining the appropriation of certain systems for certain technological needs.
