The Upanishads philosophical texts Essay

The Upanishads are philosophical texts in Sanskrit, which summarize the teaching of individual chapters of the four Vedas. Thus, we are going to discuss the Upanishads and give some reflection on the information presented in them.
First of all it is necessary to mention that the Upanishads are the highest creation of Indian intelligence, and are the highest expression of the genius of India, its sublime poetry, the greatest achievement of its thoughts and words. In other words, the Upanishads are a wide stream of spiritual revelation, the direct and in-depth evidence, and the result of a unique mentality and an unusual orientation of the spirit. The Upanishads are also great scriptures because a profound spiritual experience and the revelations of intuitive philosophy illuminated by an inexhaustible light and power are embodied in them.
We are going to explore two examples taken from the Upanishads for the best understanding of their true nature and ancient wisdom. The first example is about the way how the father shows his son Svetaketu the true nature of things and own inner essence. Svetaketu has been studying for many years and then, when he came back home, he thought that understood almost everything about the world. Svetaketu was proud of own knowledge but father asked him not a simple question: “Svetaketu, as you are so conceited, considering yourself so well-read and so stern, my dear, have you ever asked for that instruction by which we hear what cannot be heard, by which we perceive what cannot be perceived, by which we know what cannot be known?” (http://www.thenagain.info/Classes/Sources/Upanishads.html) Svetaketu was confused and had no answer on this question, but the father has explained in his turn that the true essence of things person may feel due to deep concentration, listening, intuitive perception and self-development of own inner personality. It is better to feel the higher Truth and listen to own heart that is always saying the Truth than to be listening to surrounding lie.
The next example has as much philosophical knowledge as the previous one. The father asked his son to place the salt in water and then to bring it back. The son was trying to do it, but the salt was melt and the water was salty due to the son’s previous actions. It proves the fact that not everything around us can be seen by eyes, and don’t even seeing own inner world it is impossible to deny its existence. Thus, all people should be attentive to own voice of the heart and try to develop own personality every day and every minute.
Thus, taking everything into consideration it is possible to say that the Upanishads are spiritual poems of the Absolute; they can be presented in verses or rhythmic prose, carried out perfections and striking on an inspiration and exactness of expressions, amazing on their rhythmics and vividness.
In conclusion, philosophy of the Upanishads is not an abstract theorizing on a theme of the Truth or logical chart of different inferences. The Upanishads are the Truth in itself that was seen, felt deeply, outlived, storable in secret essence of reason and soul and gladly uttered in the delight of convincing understanding.
